The announcement has been shared by Supertram this afternoon (June 26).

A spokesperson said: “Due to the extreme hot weather conditions, all services will be withdrawn at 13:30 until further notice, ticket acceptance is in place with First and Stagecoach buses along the network.

“We advise not to travel at this time.”

Passengers on yellow route services were also told at around 12.45pm that all services would be suspended from 1pm.

The cancellations come amid the fourth day of a record-breaking heatwave, which has seen temperatures rise to 32.1°C, the highest temperature ever recorded in Sheffield on a June day.

Temperatures of up to 34°C are forecast in Sheffield today, between 2pm and 4pm,

The city is also currently subject to a Met Office amber warning of extreme heat, which will remain in place until 11.59pm tonight (Friday, June 26, 2026).

Tomorrow is also set to be hot, although not as warm as previous days, with temperatures of 28°C forecast, before the sunshine makes way for rain on Sunday (June 28) morning and lower temperatures in the low 20s.
