Speedway: Star name to take Sheffield number one slot again in crucial semi-final clash with Leicester
Big name set to guest for Tigers again in vital semi-final clash
Grand prix star Max Fricke will ride for Sheffield against his former club on Thursday night, as Sheffield battle for a place in Speedway’s Rowe Motor Oil Premiership Grand Final.
Fricke, who was Leicester’s number one last season, will represent the Tigers again as guest, standing in again for the injured Jack Holder, as Sheffield take on the Lions in the first leg of their semi final at Owlerton.

Meanwhile, Leicester have brought in British Under-19 Champion Jody Scott to guest for them at reserve on Thursday (September 24, 7.30pm).
The Tigers will be looking to build up a substantial lead to put them in a strong position ahead of the decider at the Hydroscand Arena in the East Midlands next week (Thursday, October 1, 7.30pm).
It’s a repeat of last year’s semi-final which saw the Tigers miss out by a single point on aggregate.
This year has seen the Tigers land two sizeable home league victories over the Lions - something team boss Simon Stead is hoping they can achieve again in front of the Sheffield speedway faithful as they target a seventh straight victory in South Yorkshire.
He said: “I would love for all seven of the lads to perform to their very best - but this is play-off speedway and we know how tough these fixtures can be no matter what your form.
“Anything is possible on any given day and Leicester have had another solid season so we won’t be taking them lightly.
“But we have to take control of as much as we can and we know we need to really push on now if we are to make it through to that Grand Final to take us a step closer to bringing that trophy home.”
Sheffield: Max Fricke, Anders Rowe, Chris Holder, Leon Flint, Josh Pickering, Jye Etheridge, Luke Killeen.
Leicester: Ryan Douglas, Drew Kemp, Sam Masters, Dan Thompson, Nick Morris, Jody Scott, Joe Thompson.
