Eighteen years ago today, Sheffield United shocked the mighty Liverpool when two late goals gave the Blades a 2-1 victory in the first leg of the League Cup semi-final.

Michael Tonge, a rumoured Liverpool target at the time, scored both goals at the Bramall Lane end, after Neil Mellor had put the Reds ahead.
Liverpool turned it around in extra time of the second leg at Anfield, but it remains one of many memorable evenings under the Bramall Lane lights that season. But what happened to the United side from that evening?

The pacey Ndlovu enjoyed a fruitful time at United, where he was affectionately known as 'Nuddy'. He was part of the Blades squad led by Neil Warnock which progressed to the semi-finals of the FA and League cups in 2002/03 as well as the Championship play-off final later that season. A legend of the game in Scotland, McCall was in the twilight of his career when he came to United but he could still play. Retired just short of his 41st birthday and had a spell on the coaching staff at Bramall Lane before becoming a manager in his own right.
