Motorpoint Sheffield strengthens Steelers link
Motorpoint’s national partnership with EIHL has now been complemented at a local level
The relationship between the Sheffield Steelers and Motorpoint is already delivering benefits locally, with the club taking delivery of four vehicles from the company’s Sheffield branch for members of the playing squad.

Earlier this summer it was confirmed that Motorpoint, one of the UK’s leading vehicle retailers, would become the title sponsor of the Elite Ice Hockey League.
That national partnership has now been complemented at a local level, with the Steelers purchasing vehicles for Olivier Archambault, Logan Roe, Tim Gettinger and club captain Robert Dowd.
Dowd, the Steelers’ all-time leading goalscorer, collected his new vehicle this week and praised both the partnership and the service received from the Sheffield team.

“We are thrilled that the Steelers are working alongside Motorpoint,” said Dowd.
“The cars the Steelers have bought are fantastic and the service we have received from all the staff at Motorpoint has been first class.”
For former NHL forward Tim Gettinger, collecting his car brought a slightly different challenge.
Having arrived in the UK in August, Gettinger admitted that adapting to British driving has taken some getting used to.
“Driving on the left side of the road I can cope with, and even the steering wheel being on the right-hand side was okay,” he joked.
“But the first car the club gave me was a stick shift and changing gear with my left hand was just too foreign for me, this new car is automatic.”
The American forward was delighted with his new vehicle and thanked both the club and Motorpoint for their support.
“I’m super happy with this new vehicle and can’t thank the Steelers and Motorpoint enough,” he added.
“We hope to see all the staff from Motorpoint at games soon.”
The partnership is another example of how the Steelers’ commercial relationships are developing beyond the rink, with Motorpoint’s local Sheffield operation already playing an important role in supporting the club and its players.
