The Owls and the Sky Blues clash in a rearranged Championship fixture tonight and so what better time to take a look at some of the players who have pulled on the shirts of both sides?
There are a couple of legendary Wednesday names in there. Let’s take a wander down memory lane..
5. RB - Roland Nilsson
Of course. Quite possibly one of the finest full-backs in the history of the Premier League, Swedish international Nilsson is one of the ultimate Wednesday legends and lifted the Rumbelows Cup in 1991. He left for his homeland in 1994 before two spells with Coventry, the first of which reunited him with former Owls boss Ron Atkinson. Photo: Graham Chadwick
6. CM - Carlton Palmer
Another of the finest to have ever pulled on a Wednesday shirt, Carlton Palmer joined Coventry in 1999 towards the twilight of his career and was actually loaned back to the Owls during that time. An Owls legend. Photo: Clive Brunskill
7. CM - David Prutton
Was beyond his best years by the time he arrived at Wednesday, but offered some memorable moments in his time before injuries caught up with him. He was loaned to Coventry for a short spell in 2014, but in truth his time was up. Photo: Pete Norton
8. CM - Danny Pugh
Midfielders were on short supply, admittedly! Push played a grand total of 21 league matches across his short spells with the two clubs, 16 for the Owls on loan from Leeds in 2013. Photo: Pete Norton
