Pre-season matches are yet to be confirmed beyond the one-off clash with Celtic, to be played at a Welsh training complex behind closed doors and there is much work to do on the playing squad ahead of the release of 10 senior players at the end of this month.

The extension of restrictions by the Government beyond June 21 has played havoc with clubs hoping to swing their doors open for the start of the season.

The transfer window is now open and the Owls are permitted to make free agent and no-fee loan transfer under the rules of their transfer embargo.

Some dates to look out for:

June 9th – Summer transfer window opens

June 24th – Fixture list released

July 7th – Celtic v Sheffield Wednesday

August 6th/7th – League One gets underway

Week of August 9th – Carabao Cup begins

Week of August 30th – Papa John’s Trophy begins

August 31st – Summer transfer window closes

January 1st – Winter transfer window opens

January 31st – Winter transfer window closes

Weekend of April 30th – League One ends

May 21st – League One Play-Off final
