Wednesday, like many clubs, have often done their major business late in transfer windows.
But there are six matches in January on top of the three remaining in 2020 and the concern is that the club can ill-afford to take their time on securing deals for players better suited to Pulis’ thinking.

Pulis also revealed that he was to have a meeting with Wednesday owner Dejphon Chansiri this week to give what he described as an ‘honest assessment’ of the state of the club and hinted that transfers would be part of that conversation.
Asked directly whether the club were well on with business and whether fans should expect to see business done early in the new year, he told The Star: “We’ll see what happens” and once again reiterated the need for the club to bring in new players.
“I don’t think there’s any other way of saying it,” he said. “We need to improve the group of players.

“One of the main things we need to do is stay nice and solid, nice and together. Like I say, I think the players are doing their best.”
Asked whether he believes Chansiri will once again back his manager with money to spend, he said: “We'll see. He's spent a hell of a lot of money on this football club over the past five years and I understand his frustrations.
“You can only do your best and I think they're doing their best.
