After defeat at Nottingham Forest on Tuesday evening the Owls face-off with fellow strugglers Coventry City at Hillsborough this weekend, desperate to put the brakes on a run of form that has seen them go nine without a win at the foot of the Championship table.
And a stretched squad will be put under continued pressure with news that two key defensive players will remain on the sidelines for the visit of the Sky Blues.

“Julian I think will struggle again for Saturday, I think he’ll be alright from then,” Owls boss Tony Pulis told the media after Tuesday’s defeat, though he admitted he did not know the exactly what the German’s injury was.
“I don’t know, you’d have to speak to the doc,” he said when asked whether it was a concussion issue. “We’re controlled on what we can do, especially when it comes to injuries like that, with their heads.”
Pulis also delivered updates on former player of the year winners Keiren Westwood and Dominic Iorfa. Westwood, 36, has a groin injury but is back in light training. Key man Iorfa will miss the rest of the campaign with a ruptured achilles.

Back-up keeper Cameron Dawson pulled out late with an unspecified knock and there were also concerns for Tom Lees, who was on the end of what looked to be a horror challenge from Forest’s Lewis Grabban in the build-up to Forest’s second goal. But he should make the Coventry game.
“He has got stud marks above his knee,” said the Owls boss. “I thought it was on his shin but it was above his knee.
“I watched referees week in, week out get decisions wrong with VAR and they watch it four or five times so I shouldn't be surprised that in a live they miss something as obvious and blatant as that.”
