It was another one to forget for Sheffield Wednesday as they were beaten 1-0 by a Preston side that were desperate to end their horrendous run of form at home. Josh Windass got an early red card and Tom Barkhuizen got on the end of a Keiren Westwood punch to get the only goal of the game.
The Owls remain in the Championship relegation zone, and there wasn’t much to write home about in Lancashire from Tony Pulis’ SWFC debut.
5. Julian Börner - 7
Looked tidy and a lot more composed as his mini resurgence continued in recent games. Got stuck in and won some big tackles and interceptions. Can’t fault him really. Photo: Steve Ellis
6. Moses Odubajo - 5
Pretty quiet playing as effectively a winger. He wasn’t really able to affect the game as much as he’d have liked, and missed Wednesday’s best chance of the second half. Photo: Steve Ellis
7. Barry Bannan - 5
A very quiet afternoon for Bannan by his own high standards. Didn’t have much of the ball and certainly wasn’t able to play his normal game. Can’t fault his effort though. Photo: Steve Ellis
8. Massimo Luongo - 5
Felt like he brought some stability and was tidy enough on his return. Was taken off after 60 minutes, probably as a precaution after missing a spell through injury. Photo: Steve Ellis
