From Mick Lyons to Terry Curran, there are some legendary figures to have pulled on the two shirts.
So how about a full side, some subs and a legendary manager to pull the whole thing together?
We’re playing an attacking 3-5-2 formation, and it doesn’t look half bad. Let’s take a look at our who makes our ‘They Played for Both XI’?!

2. GK - Martin Hodge
A classy goalkeeper who made 264 appearances for Sheffield Wednesday, Hodge made the move to Hillsborough from Everton in 1983 to become a club icon. A favourite of the Howard Wilkinson years, he later returned to act as goalkeeping coach. Photo: Getty Images
3. DC - Andy Hinchcliffe
Though the best years were perhaps behind him by the time he arrived at Wednesday, there is no doubting the career of Andy Hinchcliffe. He played over 200 times for the Toffees, winning the FA Cup in 1995, before making the move to Hillsborough in 1998. He played seven times for England. Ordinarily a left-back, he slides in on the left of a back three. Photo: Ross Kinnaird
4. CB - Mick Lyons
An icon at both clubs, Lyons was another to make the switch from Goodison Park to Hillsborough, doing so in 1982 having made 473 appearances for Everton. Known to many as the greatest captain Wednesday ever had, he was a tough, uncompromising central defender. Photo: Getty Images
