‘A theatrical jump’ – Garry Monk confirms Sheffield Wednesday’s Kadeem Harris appeal
Harris was shown a straight red for violent conduct in the 1-0 win over Bournemouth earlier this week, but the wingback was very upset as he left the field of play, saying that he didn’t understand why he had been given his marching orders.
It was revealed after the game that the Owls planned to appeal the decision, and now – having had further looks at the incident – Monk says that they have now lodged that appeal with the English Football League.

Hide AdSpeaking to the media today, Monk said, “Yeah, we’ve appealed that. From our point of view it’s not a sending off, it’s not violent conduct.
“If anything it could be seen as the other way around. Kads is just to get back to his feet and back in, and the player wasn’t allowing him to do that.
“Then the player makes a theatrical jump and a roll about that just wasn’t there.
“We’re hopeful that that’ll get overturned, and that Kads will be available. Apparently we’ll find out a little later on today, so hopefully that’s good news.”
