"Stab me in the heart": how Cardiff City fans have reacted to Callum Paterson's likely Sheffield Wednesday move
and live on Freeview channel 276
The Scotland international, who has been a regular feature for the Bluebirds since 2017, was left out of the squad for their 2-1 defeat to Reading on Saturday before Cardiff boss Neil Harris confirmed a deal was close for the utility man.
Paterson is something of a fan favourite in South Wales and the Cardiff faithful have responded to the news in predictably passionate fashion in what has been a difficult start to their season.

@miked1927: Paterson was outstanding in the 17-18 season from midfield. I think that's his best position even with his passing record. He scored so many important goals that season and was instrumental in us going up. Loved the passion he brought to the team.
@FreddieWoolf: Not ideal, hoping he's got a few things in the pipeline. Need some bodies all across the front line, preferably with proven experience (even if just a season or two)
@greyprawn: Madness utter madness. Harris losing plot?
@CallumJBowen: Selling Paterson :( :( :(
@Josh_Morrill: This will be the end for me. Stab me in the heart

@DanCCFC1927: Na in all seriousness, he's not very good. Was good in our promotion season but really dropped off last season, don't think he'd add anything to your team really
@AlexW1802: Seeing Callum Paterson linked with a move to Sheffield Wednesday is not the news I wanted today. Would definitely miss the scotsman too much. #CCFC
@ThreeBluebirds_ Cardiff selling Callum Paterson for £500k to a Championship rival is terrible business. Makes you wonder if they even know what they’re doing.
