TWS! has been running for around a decade since being set up by lifelong Wednesdayite, Dato Khan, and he says he’s delighted that the club have opted to collaborate with them going forward.
The group has over 22,000 members at this stage, and are hoping that the new partnership will be beneficial to both parties as the lack of supporters at Hillsborough continues to be a saddening situation for club and fans alike.

The Wednesday Sing! went from around 50 members to thousands in the space of weeks.
“It then grew as we started doing more charity work and celebrating the achievements of Owls fans. Like a family, we are there for the good times and to help through the sad times too. So many amazing Owls have been memorialised on the group and this just adds to the love shared between this very special community.
“As The Wednesday Sing! became more popular we started to get requests from SWFC players, ex-players and management, while even Mr. Chansiri has acknowledged the group by helping us to raise money for the Children’s Hospital.
“We are currently on the way to 23,000 members, and having recently started a partnership with Sheffield Wednesday FC, I am very proud to say that we are the first ever Facebook group to have an official affiliation with a professional EFL club.”
But how did that affiliation come about?

It is a relationship that will help both SWFC and TWS! to work more with the community and strengthen the ties between the club and supporters.
“Wednesday are always looking at ways to connect with the fans and going into partnership with The Wednesday Sing! is a great way to get to the heart and soul of our amazing fan base, it will bring both fans and club closer and will solidify this special relationship.”
And what does it mean for the club and TWS! going forward? The simple answer for right now is, ‘who knows’.
Khan said, “I am in constant communication with Sheffield Wednesday and we are currently sharing ideas that will hopefully benefit both club and fans. As you can understand this year has been a tough one, and both parties are missing one another like never before – so we are going to do our best to keep the love and togetherness as close as possible.”
