Sheffield Wednesday transfer news: Owls star man could join divisional rivals, Nottingham Forest eye lethal striker

Sheffield Wednesday have just two games left to drag themselves out of the relegation zone, as they look to narrow the gap on Derby County next weekend in order to set up a final day relegation showdown against the Rams.

Last weekend, the Owls were defeated 3-1 by Middlesbrough, missing another chance to get some precious points on the table.

Speaking after the game, Wednesday midfielder Andre Green revealed he has no intentions of leaving the club even if they drop down to League One, and said: “I’ve still got another year after this and I’ve come here to play football… When I left (Aston) Villa I was a free agent for a little bit due to the circumstances of what’s going on.

“I’ve missed so much football this season, and I just want to play. My main thought is to be here, it’s where I want to be.

“Wherever we are, whether it’s League One or the Championship - if I can get a good season under my belt in the year I’ve got left then I can only be happy with myself. I’m not looking to get away, and I’m committed to staying here.”

The Owls are back in action this Saturday afternoon, when they take on Nottingham Forest at Hillsborough and look to make up some ground on Derby.
