The January window is less than a week old but clubs in League One have been active, with a host of names credited with interest from the Owls.

Asked where the club were at in terms of making moves in the transfer window, Moore admitted there was nothing imminent in terms of incoming players and that no conversations were currently being had with other clubs over potential deals – though that will change in the coming days.
“What we are going to be doing is enquiring about one or two players we feel can help us,” he said in conversation with The Star. “At the moment that will be an enquiry, where they go with it, I wouldn’t know yet.

Moore denied any existing approach for Stoke City’s ex-Owls defender Aden Flint, Bournemouth yougster James Hill, Blackburn defender Tayo Edun, Everton starlet Tom Cannon or former target Macauley Bonne, who was released by QPR this week.
After conversations with Wednesday owner Dejphon Chansiri, Moore intimated there was no notion of a transfer warchest to go at and that their business would likely be limited to temporary deals.

“There are a couple of positions we could tweak or strengthen just in case as we get through the second half of the season with injuries and cover.
“It would be to give the players the right challenge going into the second half of the season.”

Hide AdNews over McGuinness – who Moore seemed resigned over losing after this weekend’s FA Cup clash with Newcastle but said would be the subject of further conversations between Wednesday and Cardiff City – has come in a week where promotion rivals Ipswich Town and Plymouth have added to their squad.
Can the Owls boss foresee any situation in which Wednesday stick with what they’ve got heading into February?
“It’s difficult to say,” Moore said. “Sometimes football dynamics dictate. You have to take a lot of things into consideration because once the window is closed you have to get on with it.

“This season when unforeseen things have happened, we’ve been able to adapt and keep the results coming. Even though the squad is smaller, there is more versatility to the squad and we’ve been able to cope with those problematic situations that hampered us the season before.”
