Sheffield Wednesday: Tony Pulis has made January transfer plans, offers update on pursuit of coaching staff

The Owls boss has repeatedly made clear his need to bring new players into the club and also revealed that has not given up on imminent additions to his coaching staff.
A new goalkeeping coach and a new striker, among a number of other positions, are understood to be high on his wishlist.

Hide AdOn Tuesday Pulis was unable to confirm whether the club had been able to press on with their transfer approaches and while as of this morning he admitted he was yet to discuss a plan of action with owner Dejphon Chansiri, he intimated he had a good idea of moves he wanted to make.
“I haven’t sat on my hands over the past four or five weeks,” he told The Star.
“I have been pretty straight and forthright in respect of what I think the club needs.”
On that meeting, in which Pulis has promised not to ‘sugar coat’ concerns he has over the running of the club, he said: “He has got an email that I have sent over and I’m hoping to speak to him this morning about the issues at the football club.

Hide Ad“My concern at the moment is trying to get the players prepared for tomorrow.
“Instead of discussing things with yourselves, I think the best thing for me to do is I speak to the chairman.
“I have got tremendous respect for the chairman in the way that he has so much money into the football club. You can't criticise that he has put a lot of money into the football club.”
Asked for an update on his pursuit of new coaches, Pulis kept his cards close to his chest but confirmed the search was still on.

Hide Ad“I am still looking for one or two members of staff,” he said.
“My staff won’t win the game on Saturday. I am more concerned about what players will be fit for Saturday. We did a little bit yesterday but not a lot with the game coming up.”
