It’s been a long time since the Owls overcame the Potters – 12 years to the week in fact – and Garry Monk’s team will be desperate to turn that record around and stay in touch with the division’s top spots.
But who was in the team as Wednesday ran out 4-2 winners at the Britannia back in October 2007? Let’s take a look at what they went on to achieve.
5. LB - Tommy Spurr
An academy graduate, Spurr would go on to play over 200 games for the Owls before signing for Doncaster, Blackburn and Preston. He retired earlier this year aged just 30 after suffering with injuries. Photo: Ross Kinnaird
6. RM - Jermaine Johnson
Having spent seven years at Hillsborough, Johnson left for USA-based Indy Eleven in 2014 before signing for Tivoli Gardens in his native Jamaica, where he stills plays. Photo: Ross Kinnaird
