Changes appear to be afoot at Sheffield Wednesday with speculation that Garry Monk will be adding to his backroom stuff, and on the field plans are being made to strengthen a team which needs to be in its best possible state come the start of the 2020/21 campaign.
Clubs across the league will be looking to get business done ahead of the start of the new season next month but do have the fall back of an October deadline for the window. Loans from the Premier League and the free agent market appear like they will be crucial.

1. Colback joins Forest
Jack Colback has joined Nottingham Forest on a permanent deal. The midfielder, who has been on loan at the City Ground, has finally left Newcastle United after his contract expired. He hadn’t played for the Magpies in three seasons. (Various)

2. Luton Town's midfield boost
Luton Town have been boosted by the return of Leeds United midfielder Eunan O'Kane. The Irishman returned to training with the Hatters and is on a season-long loan from the Premier League side. (Luton Today)

3. Ward return to Huddersfield on cards
Huddersfield Town are close to doing a deal for a striker. Free agent Danny Ward, formerly of Cardiff City, is in talks with the Terriers. It would be a return for Ward who played for the club between 2011 and 2015. (Sky Sports)

4. Rotherham sign rival's star
Rotherham United have completed the signing of their rival’s top scorer. winger Kieran Sadlier, who hit 12 goals last season, rejected a new deal at Doncaster Rovers to sign a two-year deal with the Millers. (Various)
