The 22-year-old became a target for the Owls after the decision was made that he would be moving on from Everton when his contract at Goodison Park expired, and The Star reported recently that Wednesday were one of several teams keeping an eye on him.

It was thought that, in all likelihood, the young midfielder would be on his way back into the Championship following some good performances in the second tier with Wycombe Wanderers last season, but the Darren Moore factor seems to be giving the Owls a fighting chance.

Central midfield is a position that Wednesday are hoping to bolster as they approach their first season back in League One following relegation, and Adeniran certainly fits the bill in terms of what Moore is looking for in a player.

The former Fulham man, who has played for England’s U17s, U18s and U19s, could prove to be a bit of a coup for the Owls if they can pull it off, however only time will tell if he’s a player that they can persuade to make the move to Hillsborough before the season gets underway.

Adeniran played 22 games for Wycombe last season whilst on loan from the Toffees, and would certainly been seen as a solid signing for the Owls if Moore can manage to lure him to S6 to help aid their push for promotion at the first attempt.
