It all ended with a 1-1 draw at Watford’s Vicarage Road, Josh Windass grabbing his record-breaking 53rd goal in Owls colours in what could be his last match wearing them. Callum Paterson grabbed the assist in what could be his last match for the club. There’s a few in that boat.
An away draw feels a fitting way to close things out; solid enough, not spectacular, but sound. For Wednesday to spend the season free from relegation stress is no small achievement and while concerns abound on the summer ahead, the campaign itself can surely only be viewed as a success.
On an afternoon the football itself was watchable rather than unmissable and two lads in fancy dress caught our eye, here are our ratings from Hertfordshire.

9. Callum Paterson - 7
Made one tackle so ferocious it made the Graham Taylor statue wince. Expertly grabbed an assist in another of the recent set piece successes. Ran his legs off once again and won lots of headers. | UGC

10. Michael Smith - 6
Provided a target to work around, won aerials in both boxes. As ever, gave everything and to hear his song being belted out as he was brought off was a joy. Let's see what happens. | UGC

11. Djeidi Gassama - 6
Got the first shot off. Picked the ball up in dangerous areas and carried it but seemed to just have it nicked away in vital moments of lost his footing. | UGC

12. Nathaniel Chalobah - 7
On in place of Bannan as Wednesday changed things up in the middle of the park. Made a couple of important defensive interventions and together with Shea Charles managed to turn things a touch. | UGC
