Familiar problems arose for Sheffield Wednesday as they were dumped out of the FA Cup at League Two Oldham Athletic.
It took 120 minutes to decide a bitty and physical clash in which the hosts took the lead twice. Davis Keillor-Dunn equalised in an improved Owls second half but in possession Wednesday looked ponderous on the ball, producing an xG of only 0.68 despite having been handed 71% possession.
The match marked a first defeat in an opening match for new Owls boss Dave Challinor, who looked a frustrated figure throughout and has problems to solve at S6. Here are our match ratings from a disappointing outing at Boundary Park.
13. Max Lowe - 8
A surprise exclusion from the line-up - on after 70 minutes. Immediately made an impact, racing up the pitch and opening things up for the leveller. Followed it up with another couple of bright passes. | ugc
14. Kieran Morrison - 6
On in the triple change to provide a different threat. Got about and threatened, helped turn the tide a touch. | ugc
15. Sean Fusire - 7
On for a rare appearance as part of the triple sub. Grabbed an assist for pushing it inside to Keillor-Dunn for the leveller. Offered some threat going forward. Cautioned. | ugc
