Sheffield Wednesday were held to a frustrating 0-0 draw for the second successive week at Hillsborough.
In front of more than 32,000, visitors Stockport County should have been in front by half-time after Harry Wood blazed a big chance over, Ryan Glover hit the post with a header and then Jack Diamond’s rebound was cleared off line. Kyron Gordon also flashed a header wide as Wednesday struggled to keep possession and create much of note apart from a Mason Burstow header before the break.
In the second-half, The Owls remained sloppy although Burstow might have turned in from close-range, while Ollie Norwood went close with a free-kick down the other end.
There were seven added minutes but neither side could find a winner, with the final whistle met by some boos from the home faithful. Wednesday now have to wait three weeks until their next league game.
Here are our player ratings from the game...

5. Reece James 6
Offered a decent outlet down the left but end product wasn't always there. Booked for a late challenge on Diamond which was a heart in mouth moment as the visitors appealed for a red. Had to defend the back post in the air and he did so admirably, including a big block towards the end. | ugc

6. Billy Mitchell 6
Neat and tidy, battled, snuffed out danger, worked hard, but couldn't find that cutting pass. | ugc

7. Barry Bannan 5
It's not quite flowing for the Scot right now. Desperate to do well but perhaps guilty of trying to force it too much. There were one or two bright moments, but his radar was off overall. Replaced late on. | ugc

8. Davis Keillor-Dunn 5
Started on the right, tucked inside rather than getting chalk on his boots. Got into a couple of promising positions but lacked sharpness and right decision-making. May have picked up a knock before he was taken off on 65. | ugc
