Sheffield Wednesday were held to a frustrating 0-0 draw for the second successive week at Hillsborough.
In front of more than 32,000, visitors Stockport County should have been in front by half-time after Harry Wood blazed a big chance over, Ryan Glover hit the post with a header and then Jack Diamond’s rebound was cleared off line. Kyron Gordon also flashed a header wide as Wednesday struggled to keep possession and create much of note apart from a Mason Burstow header before the break.
In the second-half, The Owls remained sloppy although Burstow might have turned in from close-range, while Ollie Norwood went close with a free-kick down the other end.
There were seven added minutes but neither side could find a winner, with the final whistle met by some boos from the home faithful. Wednesday now have to wait three weeks until their next league game.
Here are our player ratings from the game...

1. Joe Lumley 6
Forced into an early parry which fell into path of Wood but he blazed over. Did well to a claw away another. Felt the frustrations of Owls fans who wanted him to play it out from the back quicker. A second successive clean sheet. | The Star

2. Yan Valery 6
Tasked with stopping the crosses of ex-Blade Osborn. Got forward once or twice but didn't have much support in the first-half. Spirited in his work after the break. Booked late on. | ugc

3. Ricardo Santos 6
Well-positioned to clear Diamond's rebound off the line as Stockport pushed for opener in the first-half. Passes went astray after the break but he regained his composure to make an important cut-out as the half progressed. Made a monster block from a thumping shot, had to came off after. | ugc

4. Liam Cooper 8
A perfectly-timed sliding tackle in the box got Wednesday out of jail. Involved in a heavy 50-50 with Norwood after the break but was able to continue. Wonderful composure at times. Made a vital block as the clock ticked 80. Owls' best player for second week running. | ugc
