Sheffield Wednesday were held to a frustrating 0-0 draw at home to lowly Wigan Athletic.
In a largely positive first-half for The Owls, Mason Burstow struck the woodwork from a tight angle, while the dangerous Kieran Morrison, and Yan Valery, both went close twice for the hosts. Down the other end, Joe Lumley made saves from Reggie Walsh and Jon Mellish as The Latics, who came into this clash bottom of the table, threatened on the counter-attack.
The visitors were the better side in the the second-half, Jensen Weir striking a post from distance as Wednesday lost their way, gave up possession too often, looked vulnerable and failed to create much of note until late chances for Ali Al-Hamadi and Harry Gray in added-time. They almost lost it at the death but Gabriel Otegbayo came to their rescue.
Here are our player ratings from the game...

1. Joe Lumley 8
Got down low at his near post to save from Walsh on the half-hour mark and parried behind from Mellish as half-time approached. Claimed what came his way and tried to start attacks quickly. Had to race off his line to thwart Mellish after the break and he did well to get there first. | ugc

2. Yan Valery 7
Went close with a glancing header from a short corner inside the first 20 minutes and forced Whitworth into a stop with his feet just before the break. Played himself into some decent form right now. Hobbled off injured on the hour, though. | ugc

3. Ricardo Santos 8
Back in the side and showed his intent from minute one, barging Perkins off the ball. Continued to dominate, mopping up some dangerous Wigan moments neatly. Physically imposing, but he can also play. Made a huge block to deny former Owl Morgan Fox. Replaced with 15 remaining as his minutes continue to be managed. | ugc

4. Liam Cooper 8
Outstanding. Read everything. Positionally he was excellent, making some key interceptions and blocks. Pinged it out from the back brilliantly numerous times, too. Booked and had to watch his step after that. | ugc
