It was reported last month that 19-year-old attacker, Korede Adedoyin, had started training with the Owls’ U23s as the club looked to assess where he was at, and his training period was extended further after he bagged both goals in a 6-2 defeat to their Barnsley counterparts a couple of weeks ago.

Adedoyin is a free agent after leaving Premier League side, Everton, at the end of last season, and is looking to take a step up in levels after recording an impressive tally of 24 goals in 41 games in the U18 Premier League.

‘Cody’, as he is affectionately known, would no doubt add some quality to an SWFC U23 setup that recently saw the likes of Charles Hagan and Manuel Hidalgo step up into the senior setup, and indications are that they like what they’ve seen.

The Star is led to believe that the teenager has impressed during his time at Middlewood Road so far, and that discussions have now opened up regarding the possibility of getting him signed up in South Yorkshire.

Adedoyin will likely be seen as a boost for the U23s for the immediate future if a deal can get done, but with Garry Monk speaking often of how he’s planning for the future, the Nigerian youngster will be eyeing some Championship minutes if the opportunity arises.
