David Storch confirms latest Sheffield Wednesday appointment as he makes 'excellence' vow
Sheffield Wednesday chairman David Storch made his latest social media post on Saturday to update supporters.
Sheffield Wednesday chairman David Storch has officially confirmed the addition of Oscar Chamberlain to the club’s new-look hierarchy, reiterating his and Arise Capital Partners’ desire to strive for excellence across the board.
The Star revealed earlier this month that Chamberlain, a former communications leader at Sunderland, was set to join the Owls in a slightly different and newly-created role. It is understood he led Sunderland’s digital and marketing functions during his time at the Stadium of Light.
Storch, who has been in Sheffield for the past week, is, alongside his Arise colleagues, eager to build a new-look structure at Hillsborough that will give the club the best possible chance of moving forward on and off the pitch.
David Bruce was appointed as chief executive last month, before Simon Wilson was installed as the Owls’ new sporting director last Monday. Storch also recently revealed a new finance director is set to join the club.
The Wednesday chairman, who finalised Arise’s takeover of the club at the beginning of May, has made no secret of his hunger to implement excellence on and off the pitch at Hillsborough, and his latest social media post on Saturday evening once again highlighted that ambition.
Posting on X, formerly known as Twitter, Storch said: "Hey @swfc family.
"Coming off another action packed week in Sheffield with David Bruce and team joined by @michaelestorch and a day with Tom Costin. Love the executive team DB [David Bruce] is building, Simon Wilson and new member Oscar Chamberlain.
"Lots of leadership energy coupled with consultant partners Peter and Paul, Icon, Arup, General Sports, Jim O’Hara and others. DB presented future state to over 500 supporters on Monday, all Wednesday employees on Wednesday and 35 legends who we welcomed back to the club on Thursday.
“[We] shared our search for excellence across the full spectrum of activities committing to engaging with fans, players and Sheffield community. We strive for @swfc to be the place to be for all… fans, players and community.
“Let’s make football fun!!
"All the best,
"David."
