Davis Keillor-Dunn has already revealed his best position after sealing Sheffield Wednesday transfer
Sheffield Wednesday wrapped up the signing of Davis Keillor-Dunn on loan from Wrexham on Thursday.
New Sheffield Wednesday recruit Davis Keillor-Dunn has previously identified the No.10 position as his preferred role following his arrival at Hillsborough.
Wednesday confirmed the addition of the 28-year-old on Thursday after making an 11th-hour move for the Wrexham attacker on transfer deadline day earlier this week. He has joined the Owls on loan until January 2.
The Star first revealed Wednesday’s interest in Keillor-Dunn in June but warned that competition was fierce for the former Barnsley man’s signature. However, developments elsewhere allowed the Owls to make a late move for him as the hours ticked away at the end of a very busy transfer window.
The Star reported last month that Keillor-Dunn was likely to leave Wrexham on loan ahead of the transfer window closing. He had attracted interest from several clubs throughout the summer after finding himself down the pecking order at the Racecourse Ground.
Keillor-Dunn has previously excelled in League One, scoring 36 goals in 88 appearances. He scored 13 goals in 24 league games for Barnsley last season before moving to Wrexham on February 1.
The former Mansfield Town man became Wednesday’s 18th and final signing of the summer, and everyone is hoping he will bring goals, creativity and versatility to Hillsborough given his profile as an all-round attacker.
Keillor-Dunn has operated as a No. 9, a No. 10, as a winger and even in central midfield during his career, meaning he will tick several boxes for Wednesday boss Henrik Pedersen. It is the No. 10 position, however, that he considers his best role.
Speaking to BBC Radio Sheffield after joining Barnsley in the 2024 summer transfer window, Keillor-Dunn said: “I've played them all. I've played at the top of the diamond, attacking midfield last year, off two strikers.

“But I would probably say that my predominant position would be at No. 10, so off a No. 9, just getting the knockdowns, getting on the end of things, making runs in behind, working hard ultimately.
“I would probably say that, yes. An out-and-out No. 10. I can play off either side as well.”
Callum Slattery, of course, has quickly established himself as Wednesday’s first-choice No.10 this season, meaning the arrival of Keillor-Dunn will provide further depth and quality in that particular area of the team.
Nevertheless, it will be an excellent dilemma for Pedersen to have after he found himself starved of options last season. It could be that Keillor-Dunn is tasked with playing out wide amid the blow of losing Louie Barry for up to three months because of an ankle injury.
