Latest Sheffield Wednesday trialists revealed after being named in Under-21s squad
Sheffield Wednesday are continuing to run the rule over possible options ahead of next season.
Sheffield Wednesday’s Under-21s have included trialists Fortune Onoh and Jack Woodcock in their matchday squad for their season finale against Crewe Alexandra at Hillsborough on Monday lunchtime.
Giles Coke’s men will be looking to build on their 4-0 win over Barnsley at Middlewood Road last Tuesday afternoon and bring the season to a close with another three-point haul.
Trialists have been a regular fixture in U21s fixtures this season and Onoh and Woodcock are the latest inclusions, with the former being included in the starting line-up for the clash with Crewe. Woodcock has been named among the substitutes.
Onoh is on trial from League Two side Grimsby Town and Woodcock has arrived on a trial basis from Barnsley.
Onoh, 20, has made three appearances for Grimsby this season, featuring in the EFL Trophy. Predominantly a right-back, he has also operated at the base of the midfield.
Woodcock, meanwhile, recently had a stint at Athersley FC on a work experience loan. The 18-year-old is a midfielder and featured for Barnsley in the FA Youth Cup earlier this season.
Birmingham City striker Frank Tattum was the most recent trialist to have a stint at Hillsborough, featuring twice for the U21s earlier this month. He featured and scored in as 2-0 win over Wigan Athletic at the Brick Community Stadium and was named in the starting XI when Coke’s troops were edged out 2-1 by Cardiff City at Hillsborough just over a week ago.
Expected to leave Birmingham this summer, Tattum is understood to have recently trained with Wednesday’s first-team. He was spotted watching the U21s’ victory over Barnsley at Middlewood Road last week.
