Sheffield Wednesday youngsters head for exit in Yorkshire-based loan

Two Sheffield Wednesday youngsters have sealed experience-building loans with a non-league West Yorkshire side.

Junior Kamwa and Denny Oliver are both regulars in the Owls under-21 set-up and have spent time training with the seniors this season. Attacker Kamwa made the bench for the first team in an August Carabao Cup clash at Bolton Wanderers.

The duo will join up with Northern Premier League Division One East outfit Brighouse Town, who are battling relegation just one place and two points shy of the safety places. Kamwa and Oliver have been registered and could stand to make their debuts for the Calderdale side in their league match-up with fourth-placed Dunston this weekend. Their loan terms are for a month’s action.

Both players were named in the Wednesday’s EFL under-21 squad list and so are eligible to play for the Owls into the remainder of the season. Involvement at Brighouse will not stand in the way of that.

Wednesday confirmed in a statement: “Young Owls duo Denny Oliver and Junior Kamwa have joined Brighouse Town on a month-long loan. The pair, who feature regularly for the Owls Under-21s, join up with Town ahead of their weekend clash with Dunston in the Northern Premier League East.

“Oliver signed professional terms with Wednesday last summer after progressing through the Lincoln City academy. Kamwa made the switch to S6 in November 2024, signing his maiden professional contract after impressing on trial at Middlewood Road.”
