Sheffield Wednesday announce special ticket offer for League One clash
Home clash selected as ‘kids for a quid’
Owls fans can take advantage of a discounted ticket offer for an upcoming league game.
Sheffield Wednesday have recorded crowds of more than 30,000 for the last four league matches at Hillsborough this season and have sold-out all of their away trips. Supporters have been keen to return to S6 following the takeover by Arise Capital Partners, snapping up over 24,000 season tickets.
Wednesday’s campaign is currently on pause due to the international break. They last played in the EFL Trophy a week ago and their next clash is also in the same competition in seven days. They then return to league action away at Huddersfield Town on October 10.
They should have been preparing to host Cambridge United this Saturday but the fixture was postponed because of international call-ups. It means Henrik Pedersen’s men have an extended break where they can rest up, get players back from injury and get some training minutes under their belt.
The Cambridge clash has been rearranged for Tuesday, October 27 at 7.45pm. With it being in midweek and half term for schools, the club has decided to put on an discounted ticket offer. The fixture has been designated 'kids for a quid', where under-14 tickets will be on sale for just £1 in all areas of the stadium. And under-18 tickets are available to purchase anywhere in the stadium for £7. Tickets are now on sale to season ticket holders and Owls members. General sale starts on Monday, October 5 at 9am.
The club said: “There's no better place than Hillsborough under the lights! Thank you for your incredible support.”
Cambridge, managed by former Millwall boss Neil Harris, have made an excellent start after being promoted last season. They currently sit in the play-offs in fifth after three wins, four draws and one defeat so far.
