Striker sighted in Sheffield Wednesday clothing ahead of transfer window announcement

Sheffield Wednesday appear to have sealed their next transfer addition.

An oncoming Sheffield Wednesday addition has been sighted at Hillsborough ahead of this evening’s Carabao Cup clash with Wolves.

Ipswich Town striker Ali Al-Hamadi is expected to become the 16th signing of a manic window at S6 in a move that will satisfy a major priority of recent weeks in bringing another forward to the club. The 24-year-old Iraq international featured at the World Cup over the summer and will be hoping he can find his goalscoring touch in League One with the Owls having not had a clean run at things over the last few seasons since joining the Tractor Boys from AFC Wimbledon.

The Star reported this morning that confirmation of his signing on a season-long loan was expected within the next 48 hours and although that announcement is yet to arrive, the deal appears to be all-but done after Al-Hamadi was spotted wearing a Wednesday tracksuit and posing for photographs outside Hillsborough.

Al-Hamadi would become the fourth loanee in the Owls squad. EFL rules hold no limitation on how many temporary players can be had by a club at any one time, though it is stipulated that no more than five can be named in a matchday squad. It is expected that the Owls will continue in their transfer activity with a week left of the window.
