Chances were few and far between in a drab game although loan debutant Alessio Da Cruz, who joined the Owls from Serie A side Parma earlier in the week, produced a lively cameo performance in the second half.
Here’s how our Wednesday reporter Dom Howson rated each player. Do you agree with him?
5. Moses Odubajo - 7
Filled in at left-back in the absence of the injured Morgan Fox. Odubajo was given the difficult task of marking the dangerous Jed Wallace but he more than held his own. A solid display. Photo: Nathan Stirk
6. Jacob Murphy - 5
Failed to build on his goal at struggling Wigan. Murphy, on loan from Newcastle United until the end of the season, was well shackled by Millwall's back four and it was no great surprise when he made way for Da Cruz. Photo: Steve Ellis
7. Joey Pelupessy - 5
The defensive midfielder, whose contract expires in the summer, played a couple of neat passes forward but this scrappy, dour clash passed the Dutchman by for long periods Photo: Nathan Stirk
8. Barry Bannan - 6
A quiet afternoon by his high standards. Collected his sixth caution of the campaign after a mistimed challenge on Jed Wallace. The Scotland international is not at the peak of his powers right now. Photo: Nathan Stirk
