Many Sheffield Wednesday fans have already started coming to terms with the fact that Osaze Urhoghide will be on the move, however it remains to be seen exactly where he will end up.

The Star reported earlier this month that the 20-year-old defender had turned down the latest contract from the Owls as he seeks a more stable environment for next season, and it’s thought that it’s unlikely that Wednesday will return with another offer.

A number of clubs have shown interest in the talented defender, and now Lancashire Live have stated that Preston North End have joined a list of admirers that is thought to include the likes of Club Brugge, Sporting Clube de Portugal, Watford, Crystal Palace and Leeds United amongst others.

Urhoghide, who hasn’t been at Hillsborough too long, burst onto the scene the season before last in games against Brighton & Hove Albion and Leeds United, however the club didn’t move to tie him down long-term and now he’s into the final two weeks of his deal at Hillsborough.

His age means that Wednesday will be due compensation should be sign elsewhere, but the amount is dependent on where he ends up - a move overseas would land them in the region of £200,000, while the fee for a domestic switch could be negotiated with his new employers or head to tribunal.

As things stand, Urhoghide is yet to make a decision on exactly where he’ll be looking to play his football in 2021/22, but with preseason camps due to get underway in the next couple of weeks, he’ll no doubt be looking to make his decision soon.
