The Star revealed that Musacchio had been appointed as the club’s new manager in a bid to consolidate their position in the North East Women's Regional Football League Premier Division in 2021/22, and he’s wasted no time bolstering his ranks.

It was announced yesterday that the Owlesses’ had signed 19-year-old goalkeeper, Megan Parkin, from Sheffield FC, and now The Star has had it confirmed that they’ve also managed to land another player from their Steel City neighbours.

Alongside Parkin, SWLFC have signed Ella Bright to add another attacking threat to their side, with both ready to get to work ahead of the start of the new campaign.

Parkin, who spent some time with Wednesday’s city rivals, Sheffield United as a youngster, said, “I am very excited and looking forward to getting started in this next step of my goalkeeping development. The club had huge ambitions and I am so looking forward to being part of the club and there next steps up the league pyramid.”

Meanwhile, Bright, also 19, explained, “I’m really looking forward to getting started with the squad in preseason and getting ready for the season... After meeting the players and the new management, I think this campaign is going to be exciting and I’m really happy to be involved with the club.”

Musacchio recently told The Star that he and his new technical team were eager to make sure his side compete in the NEWRFL, and he’ll be hoping Parkin and Bright can help them do that.
