The Owls are looking to put behind them two disappointing defeats and claw some ground back on the playoff places.

They welcome Plymouth Argyle to Hillsborough tomorrow, a team that seem to have had the wood over them so far this season.

Skipper Barry Bannan and manager Darren Moore will handle the questions from the media. Keep it locked to the blog below for up-to-the-minute updates.

DM on Christmas party rumours

We’re here to talk about football... We’re playing Plymouth tomorrow and that’s what I’m here to talk about.

It’s just a rumour and hearsay - we’re here now, the Christmas period is done. There’s no rift with players and staff - we’ve been working all week, and we’re just trying to get ready for the next games.

DM on identity and style

What we’ve been trying to do is become a team that’s hard to beat. We wanted to be stronger and have more solidity - you can build from that as a base. After that you can work on getting players advanced and more up the pitch.

We’ve had a lot of disruption to our rear guard, so we’ve had to put square pegs in round holes, and that’s affected the balance of the team. That’s hindered us.

We want to be competitive, and obviously want to score goals and win games, and we’re working towards that every game and in training.

At the start of the season we were dominating, getting in front and then giving up points - we wanted to try and provide solidity so when we got in front we stayed in front. That comes with a work-rate and ethos. If you get it right it breeds confidence.

We called him back in because he’s generated interest from other clubs, but in terms of his development we’ve got to look at the options. He did well at Grimsby, and we’re also looking at him. We wanted him to get first team exposure, and that’s what he’s done.

We’ve brought them all back in so we could get some eyes on him, and then we’ll look at the second half of the season.

With his contract, we’re in the process of looking at that with him.

We haven’t received any bids for any of our players.

DM on recruitment pressure

There is pressure... But when you look at recruitment, players have to be available - and they’re few and far between. The ones you want don’t fall off trees. We’re working hard to try and get things done.

We’ll wait and see if there’s anything we get for the Oxford game. We’ll keep working.

DM on Dunkley and Iorfa

Chey is going to be out for some while... He sustained a muscle injury, so will be out for a while. He’s back on the treatment table.

Dom is making wonderful progress, it’s good to see him making that progress at the training ground. He’s doing well, but is still with the medical team. I won’t put a timeframe on when he’ll be back - he’s showing good signs though.

“It’s a vital game because it’s the next one. It happens to by Plymouth and they’re a team in good form.

“They’re strong and solid in the league and had a good result last time out.”

“We know we have to give more. We have to get better, no matter how good or bad the result is. You’re only as good as your last performance.

“We haven’t payed at home in so long. It’s been a long long time. We’ve been on the road and are back at home and we know as a group of players and staff we have to find that rhythm.

“That’s what we’ve been working towards in the last couple of weeks.”

“We speak every week in terms of the progression of the team. We understand the size and nature and expectation of the club.

“We have to keep going from there. Before the break we were on a real good run and had good momentum. That break in play we were looking forward to the games, but there’s nothing we can do about that.

“The virus has not escaped football. We were picking up momentum and we have to get back to that. We have to find that.”

“I keep working. I keep fighting and keep the team in the best frame of mind. We’re in a business where you need to win. We’ve been here a long time.

“I have to keep moving forward. We have to keep the team prepared. There’s still so much football to be played and we’re still in the mix.”
