Sheffield Wednesday transfers: Nnamdi Ofoborh update, Owls miss out on £250k star as deals go to wire

Time is running out for Sheffield Wednesday to try and complete any deals before the transfer window closes this month.

The Owls are looking to bolster their squad ahead of the 11pm deadline, as they aim to give themselves the best possible chance of avoiding Championship relegation.

Our men Joe Crann and Alex Miller spoke earlier on the Star’s Facebook page and both were confident of at least one deal being done before the window closed.

A deal to send Jordan Rhodes to Cardiff appears to be off though – is there a role still for the striker at Hillsborough?

Bournemouth midfielder Nnamdi Ofoborh won’t be joining Sheffield Wednesday after his name emerged as a possible Owls deadline day transfer target.

The 21-year-old Nigeria youth international was reportedly of interest to Wednesday as well as a host of other Championship and League One clubs.

Harry Pickering, now formerly of Crewe Alexandra, has signed for Blackburn Rovers for an undisclosed fee believed to be in the region of £650,000 plus add-ons.

It became clear this week that it was the Lancashire side that had moved into pole position when it came to the Pickering transfer tale. It had been reported that Wednesday had made an offer for the 22-year-old earlier in the window.

And as the clock ticks closer to 11pm, we’re taking you through the latest rumours surroundin Wednesday and their second-tier rivals.
