The Owls attacker missed the preseason defeat to Wigan Athletic through illness earlier this month, and that absence was followed up by reports from the Netherlands that he was on his way to join De Graafschap.

This week it was again reported that he would be on his way back to his home country – with a two-year deal and free transfer being mentioned – however Moore insists that they have had no bids for the 25-year-old at this stage.

Speaking to The Star ahead of the game against Portsmouth this weekend, Moore said, “The situation with Sylla is that he’s been training every day with us… Where the reports come from, I don’t know. We’ve had no official bid on the table as we’re speaking here now - that’s not to say that we won’t get a bid for him at another point.

“But I can confirm now to everybody that we’ve not had anything. Where that news came from, and why it came out, I don’t know.

“The facts are this… Have we had an offer? No. Has Sylla been training all preseason? Yes. Did he train this morning? Yes. I don’t know where it’s come from, that’s me just being straight.”

There is still plenty of time for a potential move to happen for Sow, but as things stand he’ll be a Wednesday player when the 2022/23 season gets underway.
