Middlesbrough v Sheffield Wednesday LIVE: Owls lose but hope remains (somehow)
Key Events
- Wednesday won last time out against Blackburn Rovers
- A defeat, and a win for Derby, would send them down
- The Owls will be without Darren Moore once again
Wednesday chance!
Great ball in from Bannan causes mayhem in the box, everyone looked like they could have a go and in the end Green’s effort is deflected wide for a corner. From there there’s a penalty shout as Borner twists and shoots wide under pressure. Didn’t look like a penalty after a second look and Borner should really have scored
Another Boro chance
Wednesday have taken a hit from conceding that goal and their confidence looks dented. Saville just got on the end of a free kick and headed over for Boro. The home side looking pretty comfortable at the minute
Barnsley are winning, by the way
The Reds have taken an early lead over the Millers in an important match at both ends of the table
Bannan has a go
Left foot shot is easily saved. It’s calmed down a little bit from the opening few minutes
Boro chance
A slip by Lees allows an opportunity for Bolasie who pulls his shot wide. A warning for Wednesday
All Wednesday...
Positive start from the Owls with most of the early few minutes being played in Boro’s half
