Have you got FA Cup fever?

It’s probably a small dose, if at all, but the old competition hits South Yorkshire today, with Sheffield Wednesday welcoming Plymouth Argyle to Hillsborough for a first round tie.

The priorities lie with promotion back to the Championship this season for the Owls but perhaps a run in the cup wouldn’t do any harm to build a bit of momentum after a sketchy season so far for Darren Moore’s men.

We have live updates throughout the day for the 12.15 kick off here on our live blog.

Catalogue of errors

Joe Edwards has a shot deflected wide of goal for a corner which eventually comes to nothing but before that a mistake from Dunkley had given Plymouth an opening on the left. The ball played across goal pulled Peacock-Farrell out of position and he looked to have opened up a space for the shot but Camara pulled it back and Edwards was eventually thwarted. A lack of concentration in the Owls backline.

Quietened down a little

The match has lost a bit of its zip now with a few passes going astray from bith teams, neither team really on top and it’s all very evenly-matched

Decent period of pressure

Wednesday look like they are starting to get a bit on control on the game, enjoying a decent spell of possession and finding themselves in attacking positions, though without putting Michael Cooper in the Plymouth goal under too much pressure.

Great cross from Paterson

Paterson fires the ball over from the right and it looks as though it’s just going to land on the head of Berahino but Michael Cooper just gets a hand to it and palms it away. I can guarantee you this won’t finish 0-0*

*no guarantees

Argyle with an opportunity

It’s the visitors turn to have a pop and Conor Grant has a strike that is deflected over. The resulting corner comes to nothing but Argyle are dangerous going forward.

Heads wide! He was offside anyway, coming onto a Liam Palmer cross and it was probably just as well as he should have done better. Still very open and fairly entertaining here

It’s very open so far and Argyle have had the frst half chance of the match with Camara breaking through don the left but under pressure his weak effort is eaily sved by the feet of Peacock-Farrell

Here we go!

We are almost ready for today’s first round match - the crowd is sparse as you can imagine but hopefully they’ll generate a bit of noise. The teams ate out on the field wamring up and we are a fe minutes away from kick-off
