The Owls have won six of their last seven matches and will equal their best run since the 2011/12 promotion-winning season if they pick up another three points tonight.

Their mid-table opponents have just one win in their last six, but did earn a credible 1-1 draw away to Sunderland seven days ago.

Key Events

  • Darren Moore makes two changes
  • A win tonight would match Sheffield Wednesday’s best run since 2011/12 promotion-winning season
  • The Owls have won six of their last seven matches
  • Burton have just one win in six

Paterson gets his third goal in as many games. It comes from Bannan’s corner and Paterson touches it home at the back post.

Scrappy, but who cares?

They win yet another header and, once again, the Owls can’t clear their lines before the ball is deflected out for a corner.

BPF does well to claim the resultant kick.

Just wide from Lewis Gibson. He makes a brilliant run from defence and finds Palmer on the right-hand side. He can’t find a man in the box and the ball comes back out to Gibson, who tries one from outside the area, which goes just wide. Unlucky.

Saido Berahino is coming on for Sylla Sow.

Oumar Niasse picks the ball up on the edge of the area, holds off Storey’s challenge and fires the ball under Sam Hutchinson’s leg to find the bottom corner.

The Owls had started the second half well, but now find themselves pegged back.

The diminutive Scot is having some fun tonight. He’s just scooped a ball over two Burton defenders to find Palmer out wide.

Looks a cut above the rest and finds Sow with another great ball over the top. He pulls it back to Paterson, who misses his kick.

We’re back under way

The Owls are attacking towards the Kop in this half.

Peacock-Farrell - 6

Palmer - 8

Storey - 6

Gibson - 6

Hunt - 6

Hutchinson - 6

Luongo - 7

Bannan - 8

Johnson - 7

Sow - 7

Paterson - 6

Most of us were probably guilty of thinking this could be a three or four-nil game after Bannan’s beautiful strike for the second goal, but the Owls were pegged back almost immediately.

The control they had over this match has since gone. Burton are well in this and the home side have looked vulnerable when trying to deal with their direct approach. Still all to play for.

Burton are enjoying a spell of pressure and a ball into the box causes more trouble than necessary before BPF claims, but not before Burton almost get a man on the end of it.

The Owls then go up the other end and Bannan shoots just wide. Six minutes added on.

The medical teams are heading back towards their dugouts as Bannan lines up a free-kick he was about to take.
