The Owls are currently eighth as they go up against 23rd-placed Crewe, and they’ll be desperate to claim all three points at Gresty Road in their first meeting with the Railwaymen since a 2-0 defeat in the Championship back in 2006.

Wednesday have the likes of Josh Windass, Nathaniel Mendez-Laing and Ciaran Brennan back in contention, while Lee Gregory was also given the all clear after he left the field during the 0-0 draw with Portsmouth with a bit of a niggle. The game does come too soon, however, for others such as Chey Dunkley, Dennis Adeniran and Sam Hutchinson.

Alex Miller and Joe Crann will bring you all the team news, updates and more as the afternoon progresses – and hopefully there’s a Wednesday win to shout about at the end of it.

Up the Owls.

We’ll have his comments right here.

Wednesday go up to seventh in League One. Barry Bannan shone for the Owls, BPF saved a penalty, and Lee Gregory finished the job off. Good 2-0 win for the Owls - a professional performance.

Wednesday clear. Just.

Corbeanu and Gregory off

Shodipo and Berahino come on. Still 2-0.

Wednesday very nearly 3-0 up via PAterson after a corner, but it hits the post and bounces out. So close.

Paterson gets a really nice connection on a strike on the left side of the Crewe box. It’s parried out to Gregory, who can’t get it under control, and it’s eventually cleared.

Another decent Wednesday chance as they play largely on the break now. They’re looking pretty comfortable.

A mistake from Johnson leaves Crewe with an opportunity... The effort is fired straight at BPF though, who gets down to collect it and hold on.

Johnson whips a ball across goal after a lovely flick from Bannan, but nobody can get on the end of it.
