But the nature of this season means that there’s no time to dwell on that result as they prepare to face the Royals and end what has become a worrying run of form in the Championship – but it doesn’t look like he’ll have any players back that weren’t involved at Hillsborough on Wednesday night.

Speaking to the media today ahead of the trip down to Reading, the Owls boss gave a bit of an injury update on the likes of Keiren Westwood, Andre Green and Massimo Luongo, though it remains to be seen exactly when they’ll be back available again.

Moore said, “As far as we know before today’s session everyone is fine and well… Hopefully we’ll have no issues in the training session and have a fully fit squad to select tomorrow.

“Both Andre Green and Keiren Westwood won’t be considered for this weekend, maybe next week we’ll be able to assess them better. They’re making good progress, but won’t make this weekend.

“Massimo is one who’s been on the treatment table… We’re hoping that we’ll know more on him in terms of medically, but he’s still with the physios. Hopefully we’ll get a date and time next week at some point.”

The likes of Moses Odubajo, Joost van Aken, Cameron Dawson, Dominic Iorfa and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru all remain sidelined with a variety of injuries as they look to try and get back as soon as possible, but there has been no word with regards to actual return dates for any of them at this point in time.

Wednesday face Reading – who are currently vying for a Championship Play-Off place – at 3pm tomorrow afternoon in Moore's second attempt to secure his first win since taking over at the club.
