Kadeem Harris opens up on Sheffield Wednesday links with 'unplayable' former teammate Kenneth Zohore
Sheffield Wednesday wide man Kadeem Harris has opened up on the club’s links with his former teammate Kenneth Zohore, describing the £8m man as ‘unplayable at times’.
Owls boss Garry Monk has made no secret of his desire to add to the club’s forward line, describing the process of bringing a new number nine in as ‘complicated’ given the competitive nature of the current transfer market.
West Brom forward Zohore, who played with Harris for three years at Cardiff City, is a name heavily linked with Wednesday having not clicked at the Hawthorns following that eye-watering transfer last summer.
“He’d definitely be a great addition,” Harris told The Star. “All the strikers we have are very different and he would be a very different striker to add to the squad.
“He’s very physical, he’s also quite quick as well when he gets going and when he’s full of confidence he’s unplayable at times.
“He’s quite quiet, but you know he’s on the pitch when he’s on the pitch and that’s the most important thing. He’d definitely be a great addition to the squad if he did come.”
New signings Elias Kachunga and Josh Windass have both made scoring starts to their season, as has the maligned Jordan Rhodes. Adam Reach is currently operating as the club’s fourth striker and Harris reiterated his faith in the forwards the club already has.
He said: “I do think we have a target man in Jordan Rhodes, but the addition of another would be great. You can never have enough depth in your squad, some people fall in and out of form and it’s a long season.
“But I’m happy with what we’ve got at the moment.
“Sometimes the day before you hear something and the next day that person has signed, but apart from that there’s no discussion over who is coming or who might come.
“From our end we don’t hear that much and we just concentrate on what we’ve got now and what we’ve got coming up, which is Watford on the weekend.
“Every day I focus on what I know we have, which are facts. I don’t know who will be coming in, I don’t know who was and isn’t anymore. It’s not something I focus on or that players focus on really.”
