Wednesday face off against Rochdale in the Carabao Cup tomorrow night on the back of a big win away at Cardiff City, so I had a go at selecting my XI as the Owls look to go three unbeaten for the first time this year.
9. M - Alex Hunt
Hunt is another bright talent at Wednesday who’s probably going to get a fair few minutes this season. He’s been used quite defensively when utilised as part of the first team, but I think against a team like Rochdale he could be used in more of an attacking role to see how he does. Photo: Steve Ellis
10. F - Adam Reach
Monk and Reach have spoken about him playing more centrally, and he can definitely do a job in behind the main striker. The cup is a good game to help him develop in that role, and he’ll always put a shift in. Photo: Steve Ellis
11. ST - Elias Kachunga
The new man, Kachunga, needs games having missed most of Wednesday’s preseason, and you’d like to think that as a number 9 against Rochdale there’s a chance of him getting his first goal for Wednesday and getting that monkey off his back early in the campaign. Photo: via swfc.co.uk
