And as the top eight position themselves, as the top three continue to last each others' pace, there’s been no let-up for the sides desperate for promotion to the Championship this season.. we could be heading towards another record points total required.
But where do Sheffield Wednesday sit in the reckoning according to the stats? What about the pace-setting pair of Ipswich Town and Plymouth Argyle – and what about the likes of Derby County and Barnsley?
Who looks most likely for relegation?
The number crunchers and statistics experts at FiveThirtyEight have taken into account the quality of each squad, form guides and remaining fixtures to draw up their recmmendations on who will finish where on what number of points.
And it’s tight in several areas of the table - with a handful of spots separated by goal difference.
After the FA Cup pause, here’s how the data experts see League One finishing..

21. 5th - Bolton Wanderers - 80pts
Yet another big League One club with lofty ambitions, Bolton are fifth in the real-time table and are expected to stay there after another positive transfer window and continuing good form. A 66% chance of the top six is one Ian Evatt would have settled for, you'd think, along with a 21% chance of a return to the Championship. Photo: Lewis Storey

22. 4th - Ipswich Town - 85pts
The biggest spenders in the division having hauled two seven-figure fee players in January alone, Ipswich are showing the pressure a touch in recent weeks but certainly have the squad to rally back into the automatic places. A forecast position of fourth shows sign of concern, though, along with a 21% chance of a top two finish. A 37% chance of promotion in any form is not one to be sniffed at, either. A 6% shot at the title will be seen as a disappointment. Photo: Harry Engels

23. 3rd - Derby County - 88pts
Paul Warne knows League One and lordy lord how he's take back to it with a different group of players with incredible ease. Aside from Wednesday, the Rams are the form team in the division and few would bet against them even creeping into the top two - for which they're given a 34% chance. There's a likelihood of promotion, they say, at 53% - and a 12% shot at the top spot. Photo: Nathan Stirk

24. 2nd - Plymouth Argyle - 91 points
As incredible as promotion would be for any side, it would be slightly gutting to finish second on 91 points, wouldn't it? Plymouth set the pace early doors and have so far sustained it - despite fears they could fall away as they did this time last year. No signs of that, though, even though they were removed from top spot over the weekend by Wednesday. A 53% chance of a top two finish is forecast, an 60% of promotion and a one-in-five chance of the title. Photo: Dan Mullan
