It’s a thoroughly bizarre game, but in this season of all seasons, of course it was won with the very last touch of the ball.
Josh Windass’ diving header with seconds remaining capped an unbelievable few weeks for the club. All looked lost, all looked as if it would fall short.
Sheffield Wednesday are a Championship football team once more.
Drink it in.

5. Callum Paterson - 6
Ticked all the Pato boxes - early knock to the bonce, couple of displays of ‘housery, tireless work rate. He left it all out there and was subbed on 78 minutes when his legs just dropped a touch. Photo: UGC/Steve Ellis

6. Liam Palmer - 7
Started out in his new midfield role and did nicely if he didn’t manage a great stranglehold in the game. Went wide later and got some more joy, before pulling back onto the left of the back three. Photo: UGC/Steve Ellis

7. Barry Bannan - 8
Would have blown the roof off Wembley had his classy chest-and-volley not been blocked early doors. Was a little more marginalised than he may have hoped early doors as Wednesday went direct but caused problems at set pieces and curled one just wide when the second half was young. Fizzed over a half-volley in extra time. When Wednesday were dangerous, he was at the heart of it. Seeing him go off cramped-up in extra time was painful. Gave the lot. Photo: UGC/Steve Ellis

8. Marvin Johnson - 6
Struggled to get into things early doors with things just a bit more scrappy than Wednesday might have liked but seemed to spring into action, particularly after the red. Photo: UGC/Steve Ellis
