The Owls boss has described the squad as the ‘most disjointed’ he has seen and has questioned the leadership qualities in the group in a run of fixtures that has seen them go eight without a win since his arrival.
He has also been quick to praise individuals, however, and speaking after Wednesday’s sorry 2-0 defeat at Nottingham Forest, he chose to do so when asked about 19-year-old Liam Shaw.

Hide AdThe midfielder, straight back into the team after a three-match suspension for his sending off against Reading, moved the ball around nicely before he was replaced by fellow youngster Alex Hunt after 75 minutes.


“I thought Liam did really well and then blew up with about half an hour to go, but he looked great, I thought, first half,” he said.
“I think out of the academy players, all the players I’ve seen so far, and it’s only been a month, he’s the one that you look at and you think he could be a real, real asset to the football club. I thought he was very, very good.”
Pulis also volunteered praise for vocal centre-half Chey Dunkley, who has started the last two matches having returned from a double leg break that kept him out of action for 10 months.
