How Sheffield Wednesday fans - and journalists - reacted to the signing of Elias Kachunga

Just as The Star’s news that Sheffield Wednesday were approaching a completed deal for Josh Windass began filtering through, the club announced the signing of former Huddersfield Town attacker Elias Kachunga on a free transfer, sending Owls social media into a frenzy.

The Germany-born DR Congo international arrives on a free transfer after his departure from a successful spell at Huddersfield Town, where he celebrated promotion to the Premier League in 2017.

But what have Owls fans – and one or two journalists – made of the move? Let’s take a look at the word on Twitter.

@TomTB1995: Interesting signing Kachunga. Was brilliant in that promotion season for Huddersfield. Can play in different positions as well. Good stuff.

A few negative noises - & certainly Kachunga’s scoring record needs to improve. But nobody scored a lot of goals for Huddersfield during his time there. Saw a fair bit of him & liked the rest; skill, pace, movement etc. Is he hungry to add? Age says yes.
