Flint was a deadline day signing by the Owls as he was brought in on loan from Cardiff City for the 2020/21 season, and was straight into the starting XI at St. Andrews despite having not trained with his new teammates.
His new manager, Garry Monk, was delighted with his performance in the Midlands, and also gave an idea of what he’ll bring to the club following his move.

“You saw what Aden brought today… It’s about character and his experience. He’s come here determined. Unless you’ve had money to spend you’re going to get players in situations – maybe they haven’t been playing or out of favour. We’ve found players with the right profile, the right mentality.
“We’ve got a really healthy squad and a squad we can work with. We’ve started that transition very well.”
And while it turns out that injuries led to an acceleration in terms of Flint, he’s not a new face on the radar.

Monk added, “Aden has been on the radar for a long time… We lost four centre-halves in the last game so it accelerated that. Aden wanted to come here, he didn’t think twice about it, along with Jack as well. It strengthened our attacking options.
“If we can get those injuries back, it’s going to be a good thing for us.”
