Charlton Athletic v Sheffield Wednesday - Darren Moore press conference LIVE

DM on selling the project

Marvin was out there as a free agent and he had lots of offers ahead of him.

We put out pitch in and at this stage of his career, timing is everything. It’s about the fabric of the football club, he wants to etch his name into this football club and be someone the fans can adhere to.

He felt the club was the right one and we’re pleased to have him on board.

Darren is here.. first up, transfers

Why Lee? He’s a quality player. It came about knowing the availability and we’ve been after him for a while.

He adds competition at the top end of the pitch and we’re pleased to have him on board.

He knows his way around and this level and his enthusiasm and willingness and talent. These are big factors and they make him a really good player.

His experience will be massive for us this season.

Marvin has played a lot of football at the level above and is another experienced individual. He brings balance to the left-hand side.

His experience in the Championship and of his ilk is a really good thing. He’ll be a good player for us.

Good morning, Wednesdayites!

The season is almost upon us, and we have ANOTHER two new faces in the door after the additions of Marvin Johnson and Lee Gregory.

A trip to Charlton awaits of course, tomorrow evening in London, where a packed away allocation is expected.
